At certain times, there were certain places that had a better atmosphere for working on art. Sometimes, it was an art just to find the right place to work on a piece of art, at least that was the way that Cresenthia saw it. But if you looked hard enough, you could find art in just about anything; you just didn’t always want to look hard enough. Pondering that though for a few more seconds, Thia tossed it aside, picking up her paints and paint brushes and putting them into her art bag, along with a pad of paint paper. The art room was not fitting her needs right now, she needed to be higher up to paint what she wanted. And the only place she could think of that was good enough was the Astronomy tower.
Cresenthia knew this school like the back of her hand, and finding her way to the stairs of the tower was a simple task. The not so simple task was getting up the stairs, for they were very steep, but she didn’t think too much of it, she had done it plenty of times before in a dress much harder to walk in then the one she was wearing now. This one didn’t have a bunch of petticoats to try and stop her; it was a simpler black corset dress. Though the thing that Thia could never quite get over was how long it always seemed to take to get up to the actual tower, in reality it only took about ten minutes, but it felt more like an hour. But she wasn’t going to complain, the view was always spectacular and very much worth it.
Upon reaching the landing, Thia smiled, something that would seem like a rare occasion to most students. She quickly set up her materials near and on the ledge of one of the windows. She put all of the paints on the ledge, along with the paint brushes, and pulled a chair from the corner over and sat down, placing the pad of paper on her lap. The night sky was her challenge tonight. It wasn’t much of a challenge, she had drawn a night sky before, but the full moon and stars looked extra special tonight, more pretty than it normally did. She quickly picked out the colors she was going to use, and got started on the painting, letting her brush go over the paper, almost like it had a mind of its own. She only ever looked at the paper and the sky, and occasionally the paints, beyond that, she didn’t look anywhere else for the next few hours, and she blocked out all sound.
Finishing up her painting, Cresenthia cleaned off her brushes and put them back in her bag. Laying her painting down to dry, she took this time to just stare out the window, and look at everything, not just the sky. From here she could see most of the grounds, much of the top of the building, and even a little bit of the town. She felt superior up here, almost like she was in charge of all, which she was almost, at least at the school, the only person higher than her here was the Headmaster, not that she really minded though, she loved teaching art too much to ever give it up willingly. For a split second, she thought she heard the creaking of the stairs, but she wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination or not, so she just brushed that thought away.
