Summer .s k y e. LOVE
Converse thudded against the ground softly, scrapping against the asphalt every once in a while, as she made her way off the road and into the grass. It was dark, but a few dim street lights spewed fluorescent lighting here and there, allowing her to at least see where she was heading. She was in Amethyst Park now, making her way toward the old wooden playground that had been there for who knows how long. Summer had been going here ever since she was a little girl. Before her change, even. First it was just to play, when she was a toddler, crawling around in the sand, getting pushed down the slide and caught in the arms of her father at the bottom. Though as she got older, she would come here often to think. Something about the joy she had here when she was so young, the joy that others get when swinging through the air, hanging from the monkey bars, or sliding as fast as they can down the slide, had made her come back. It relaxed her, yet at the same time amused her, making her feel almost like an excited little kid again.
The memories she had here were priceless as well. She would often think back to all of them, one in particular... She would never get sick of this place, and she would remember it always. Her memories here were treasured deeply by her and possibly others she had shared them with. She could still here the excited exclamations of her friends, much younger back then, as they jumped from the swings, each trying to land farther than the others. Her lips curled at the corners, into a somewhat sad, but happy smile as well. She missed those days, and something about thinking back to memories that are so long gone seemed to send sorrow through her, though it didn't last long at all. Her eyes lit up as she caught site of the faint outline of the swing set ahead. Not much light surrounded the playground, for it was off limits at night, but she had been here enough times to know exactly where everything was. She quickened her sprint to a run, kicking off her shoes as the ground turned from grass to sand. Even in the freezing cold of winter, she didn't need to wear clothes to keep her warm. Though, that didn't mean she walked around naked all the time, she wished she could, but no, that would cause too much attention and end up in trouble.
Bare feet slid into the soft cold sand, millions of tiny grains pouring over the them soothingly, with each step as she meandered toward her favorite swing; the one to the right closest to the bars. Three other swings hung to the right of it, and it was just slightly higher up than the others. A result of one of her friends flipping it over the bars once, just for her. She always complained about the swings being too low, too close to the ground; so much her feet could lie completely flat underneath her and it still seemed as though she could bury her feet in the sand and still be able to touch the bottom of the hole she dug. When she reached the swing, her arms stretched far ahead of her not able to wait any longer, slender fingers sliding around the cold metal of the chains that linked together and held the swing into place. Lifting herself into the air, she swung her legs over the swing, and landed on the seat, toes just above the ground below her. Her eyes faced the forest, rather than the streets, she sat the opposite way than most kids would, for the view of the forest simply seemed more interesting than the bustling streets, to her anyways.
Her mind wandered onto random things, as she kicked her legs, pushing harder for added height. Blue eyes shown a deep gray in the dark, as they gazed into the night sky, watching the thick white clouds lurch slowly over. Here and there they would leave a bit of space where she could see the stars dazzle in the dark navy sky. She grinned, and stopped herself, stepping to her feet, and walking gracefully to the little playground that separated itself from the swing set to her left. She climbed up to the cold iron steps, her bare feet not even feeling the sting underneath them, as she made her way to the very top floor of the playground. It wasn't really that high up, though when she was little it sure did seem like it. She turned, eying the silver pole that led back to the sand-covered ground. Grinning, she reached out, both hands grasping the pole, then pulled the rest of her body onto it. Legs wrapped around, and she loosened her grip, letting herself fall. Her feet touched the ground in an instant, but they didn't stay there for long. Hands still kept hold of the pole, as she jumped back on, and spun herself around.

Wandering aimlessly around, Reio stumbled upon the park with no real intentions. He never was one to just go places like this alone; usually there would be about five other people with him, cameras slung over their bare shoulders as they posed playfully and took shots of each other, then posing in turn for their own pictures to be taken. Either way, Reio came to the park, thoughts passing through his mind. If it weren't for the sand, he'd probably have just kept on walking straight on, not even noticing the girl at the swings.
The moment he stepped into the sand, memories crashed into him like a wave, reminding him of home. The endless white beaches, the cleanest and most soothing water... he closed his eyes for a moment, then spotted the girl the instant he opened his eyes. "Hey there!" he waved gleefully, unaware of what she was. If he had known, he'd have been at her side the moment he laid eyes on her, his face glued on her inseparably as he bombarded her with thousands of questions about her habits. He moved closer to the swing set, his steps light and quiet, now that Pearl wasn't with him, her whereabouts an uncertainty.
He leaned on one of the poles, opposite side of the girl, a wide, gentle smile smeared across his face, causing a single dimple at his left cheek to appear. He slid his hands in his pockets, feet moving softly at the sand beneath his shoes, still half-caught up in his dream of his home. It wasn't wrong to daydream about your home in public, was it?

Eyes closed, as she turned around, sliding down, her back pressing into the pole. The metal was smooth against her exposed lower back, she could almost imagine the sting of the cold blazing over her skin; but that feeling was no longer there. Not that she had a problem with that, she always hated the cold when she was younger, before she was bitten. It was just so strange to not feel that anymore, when she knew it was there. She often tried to imagine it, to create the feeling in her mind and somehow in some psychokinesis way, she thought maybe she could feel it; but the memories of that feeling were fading slowly and soon she wouldn't even be able to imagine it anymore.
Her eyes opened at the sound of a voice. It took her by surprise, but an excited smile crossed her face. The words were friendly, and the voice was male. She stood, back still against the pole, and tried to focus on the male. All she could make out was the outline of his figure in the dim light. His voice didn't sound familiar, so that didn't help. "Hi Stranger!" She greeted him back enthusiastically, loosening her grip on the pole and letting her hands fall back to her sides. Ever heard the term, "never talk to strangers?" Yeah, well, even before she was bitten, Summer never paid attention to that rule. Now it was just easier to defend herself from a strange man in the middle of the night at a park. She continued to grin, her eyes gleaming even in the dim light from the street lamp a few feet away.
She continued to watch him, as he leaned against the pole of the swing set. He must be new here. She thought cheerfully, she always loved meeting someone new. It was rare for her to ever meet someone out here at the same late time she was here to think. Other than that night... Wait, he couldn't be a vampire... She would have already known by now though. Still, she scented the air quickly to make sure she hadn't missed it. Nope, not a vampire, but not a human either. Her arms moved slowly behind her back, hands gripping the pole again, fingers running up and down it in boredom. She always had to move in some way, she could never be completely still. "What are you doing out here so late?" Her voice was the cheeriest you could ever imagine a person sounding, the question not sounding even the least bit suspicious of his being here, only curious and happy for his company.

Reio couldn't help but feel a tad bad about having disturbed the girl. Probably the reason she had been out here all alone, purposely to escape anyone's disturbance. "My name is Reio." he said warmly, nodding lightly, hoping not to frighten her any further then he may have already. Even though recently girls were at the bottom of his list, no one really knew that. Not yet that is. It had started when he had just began to have trouble in school, resorting to guys became a lot more casual for him. During his teen years, girls seemed too occupied with the changes they are experiencing, hence leaving him the only other option; to go to those experiencing the same things as himself.
Shrugging the thoughts out he replied to her question with a friendly voice, "I haven't been able to sleep since I arrived here. Something about this place keeps me awake. Not to mention I heard ghosts are just around the corner." he grinned sheepishly, the very thoughts of ghosts causing him to shudder with disgust. It wasn't anything 'personal' with ghosts. He had just let his imagination run wild too many times, with ghosts as the main villains. Another downside to having such a wild mind.
The last time he let his imagination run crazy, he wound up under his bed, crying his eyes out, screaming, 'There's a ghost on my bed!!'. That's when his parents had finally decided that keeping him eluded to all things supernatural was not a good idea like they had thought previously. They'd even hid the fact that a set of his cousins were half-fairies, and some full, not to mention he had a cousin twice removed who was a vampire.

She watched him intently, waiting for his reply, while trying to see the details of his face. With no luck, she pried her eyes from him and back to the sky for a moment. Thick white clouds tumbled through it, completely hiding the sky's surface. A little disappointed, she lowered her eyes back to the boy, before letting go of the pole and walking back over to 'her' swing. As she made her way over, he spoke, first introducing himself and then answering her question as to why he was here so late. A giggle escaped her lips as she heard him mention the ghosts. "Yeah..." She smiled, as each step brought her closer, until she could see his face more clearly. She had never met anyone who was afraid of ghosts, maybe a human or two, but everyone here was used to them being around; she actually couldn't understand why they would be frightening to anybody. They didn't look that scary to her. Of course, she tends to think some of the creepiest looking things look adorable.
"It's nice to meet you Reio" She stated cheerfully, smiling as she passed him and plopped back into the seat of her swing once more. Her arms fell, hands resting on her lap. She didn't mind his being here at all, she actually enjoyed the company. It was rare that she ever wanted to be alone, and even though she had come here tonight, it was nice to have someone there, talking to her. Turning back to him, her eyes brightened. "You're new, right? I haven't seen you around. Where are you from, what are you?" Each word, no, each letter was filled with enthusiasm, you could tell from her words that she was smiling, and if you couldn't tell from that her eyes lit up, showing it beautifully.

Reio was drawn to her instantly. She was beautiful, that's for sure... but something about her. She most likely was another vampire. What was with him and meeting all the vampires? First Marion, who, Reio even cannot deny, had captured him completely, and now this beautiful girl. He couldn't but believe that some force was working in the background of his life, bringing all these creatures to his attention. "It's nice to meet you too..." he replied softly, his thoughts still running in his mind wildly, "I was born in Hawaii, but lived most of my teen years in Australia. I'm a witch, or wizard if you may for gender reasons." he smiled at his reply and how odd it may have sounded.
Just speaking of home reminded him of it and it's absolute beauty. The sky there was almost never covered like tonight, the sun shining brightly daily without any signs of ceasing... the hot days, the cool water... and then, through all the happy thoughts, he would suddenly remember the dark, dreaded nights. The lonely silence he would endure by himself... lost... Quickly regaining himself, he focused on the girl again, reflexively slipping out of his shoes and socks using his feet, then digging his toes into the sand.

Summer flashed him another smile, as she took in the details of his appearance. Lemony light showered onto him from the street light, so she could tell his hair was blonde. It spiked a bit, all over his head, but remained short. He smiled too, and she noticed the dimples curve into his cheeks. Her eyes lit up at the site, he looked young, she guessed he was a sophomore. She gasped at his next words, "Hawaii and Australia?!" You could almost literally visualize the italicized words, as she spoke them, for she always seemed to add extra emphasis to them. It was two out of the hundreds of places she had wanted to visit all her life, and one day she would achieve that, but at the moment, she would pester him with questions about them. It wasn't that she enjoyed bothering people... okay, maybe she did, but not to the point that they actually got aggravated with her because of it. She just pressed things, until she knew everything she wanted to know about something. And she did care about other people's feelings, she just hoped her cheeriness wouldn't anger them; but instead level things out, which is what usually happened.
Before she could ask anything else though, he answered her last question. "Ahh, a wizard." She stated with amusement. So many things interested her, just imagine all the amazing tricks a wizard could do. She felt a twinge of envy stab at her, but it vanished almost as soon as it came, never showing in any of her visual features. She enjoyed who, or should I say, what she had become. She lifted her bare feet into the air, pushing forward with her arms and began slowly swinging back and forth. The wind lapped at her face, her blonde hair whirling out around her.
ooc: it's okay. ^^ it was very good and not short, hehe.

He couldn't but take in her features to an extreme. From her clothes and makeup, to any moles he could spot. Bad habit you may say, but he'd heard and read that a girl likes it when she is noticed. So; he made it his duty to notice everything. Everything. He realized her cheery attitude had instantly put him into his comfortable space. When he told her about his two homes, she had reacted with a little too much enthusiasm, causing him to chuckle lightly, but he tried to hold it in, just in case he might upset her by laughing at something she'd done.
"Yeah, I'm a witch. I prefer being called a wizard though." he grinned wide and toothy, his teeth pure white, "Might be gay for now but..." he continued, mostly in a murmur, scarcely audible to the usual ear. Looking at the girl again, his cheeks exploded in color. If she were a vampire she would've heard that. He should've been more careful. He felt an invisible smack across his face as punishment for being so careless.
"So um- yeah... what are you doing out here at this time of the night?" he asked quickly before anymore could be spoken about the previous subject, his face absolutely scarlet, full of embarrassment. Of all the things, he wished Pearl was by his side, purring softly and rubbing her little head and body over his legs comfortingly. But she wasn't, and the loneliness he felt was excruciating.

Skye grinned as the boy laughed, she knew it was because of her, and it didn't bother her at the least. His laugh was comforting to her, she loved to hear the laughter of others, even if she was the one being laughed at. She always laughed with them, not caring about what they said, it was rare for her to get embarrassed. Her legs lifted higher into the air, as her arms pulled at the chains of the swing. She turned, looking over her shoulder as he spoke again, stating that he was in fact a witch, but prefered being called a wizard. She as well reffered to calling the male witches, wizards, as if by habit.
His next words amused her even more, enough to slow, and drag her toes in the sand, making the swing come to an abrupt stop. She turned back, gazing forward for a second, before lifting herself off the swing and over to the slanted pole across from the one the boy leaned against. She stood in front of it, with her arms crossed, a playful smile spreading over her face. Though, she didn't say anything about it, she just continued to look him up and down, taking in his features even further. He didn't strike her as gay, usually she was good at noticing when someone isn't straight, but he didn't look or act the part. Maybe he was still in the closet? Even in the pale light she could see his cheeks light up a bit, and she immediately felt sorry for him. Sympathy took over, she didn't like others to feel uneasy. She had nothing against gays, in fact she loved them; he didn't have a reason to worry or be embarrassed around her, she wanted to tell him that, but at the moment she decided to leave it alone.
Thankfully, the subject was changed, and put onto her; as he asked her the same question she had asked him. She pondered for a moment, wondering what she could say to hopefully make him feel more comfortable. "Wasting time, I guess." She giggled, eyes drifting back up to the cloud covered sky. "Looks like it's going to snow again soon." She added, lowering her gaze back to him once more, with a smile. She loved the snow. A slight breeze whipped through the air, ruffling her hair a bit as it passed. She simply just felt the presure of the air as it pushed at her body, nothing more, but she suspected that it must have been very cold.

He realized that she heard him by the way she looked at him. It was obvious. And he was about to crack into bits till he realized she had gone with the flow of the conversation, his shame seeping out of his cheeks. She had said snow and cold, two things he could easily overcome. He grinned widely at her and replied, "You know, I can easily cast a nice warming spell or even a small barrier over us if it did." Only he didn't realize the hint of flirtatiousness diluted in the sentence. Instead he strolled over to one of the empty swings and planted himself in it, not swinging or holding to the chains, but gazing at the girl. Even though he was what he was, he couldn't help but feel taken in by her. He felt at ease with her here, and he was happy with that. She reminded him vaguely of his little sister, the only one who had made him warm on rare cold nights. She would sneak from her room and into his, cuddle up to him, her head buried in his chest. He remembered always pretending to be asleep when she came in, but she always seemed to know when he was faking it or not. There were times he'd sleep alone and wake up and she'd be wrapped in his arms, her soft hair tickling his nose, the scent of it engulfing him in warmth. What he'd do to have his sister here with him now... perhaps someone else could take that role... His thoughts jumbled out as he refocused into the present, watching the vampiress move, her every step pulling him deeper into the cozy feeling of friendship.

Luckily it had worked. She gave a pleased smile as the red left his face, then he spoke, telling her he could make it warm with a spell if it got too cold. "Oh, really?" Her voice showed excitement, though the cold didn't bother her since she could no longer feel it. Her body was cold, yes, but everything that would be cold to a human wasn't to her, she just didn't feel it anymore. She guessed she had just become used to it, but she could still feel warmth and it was one of the most pleasent feelings for her.
She thought she had heard a bit of flirtatiousness in his words, but it probably wasn't, so she chose to ignore it, though in the back of her mind she hadn't let it go. Her blue eyes followed him as he shifted, his back leaving the pole, to walk over to the swing set, seating himself in the swing beside hers. She grinned, as he turned and kept his eyes on her. Without hesitating, she too left the pole to saunter back over to the swing set. She took her time, feeling the sand pour over her bare feet once more, before she came to her swing. For a moment she stood there, her eyes lingering on the sky, where the clouds had parted to show a small bit of stars shining like diamonds against the vast ebony surface.
Then, she too, plopped down into the seat of the swing, hands grabbing the chains, as she swayed slowly back and forth, keeping her toes in the sand. She turned back to him, her eyes tracing over his face, wondering what he was thinking. Her thoughts were on him, she found herself wanting to get to know him better. She wanted to know everything about him and his past. Where he went to school, what his family was like, why he decided to leave, if he had pets, and what his favorite color was. Her curiosity took over instantly, as she continued to gaze at him with a smile upon her pale white face.

Laughing heartily he nodded, "Yeah... It's a nifty spell." he pushed once off the ground, and then bucked his feet in, letting the pendulum motions die out on their own while watching the vampiress swing herself. A moment of silence crept into the scene, yet it had no bothering effect on Reio, for seconds through, snow flakes began to hazily descend from the blackened sky.
Reio threw his head upwards, eyes wide and lips parted slightly. "Snow-- it's so... beautiful." he mostly whispered in awe. He had never touched the snow, much less having seen it on a first handed account. It wasn't a surprise that it was snowing, since he had sensed the shift in weather, but it was a surprise nevertheless, the beauty of the thousands of flakes that had now covered the playground. "Does it snow here often?" he pondered, his face still stuck to the sky like a watchdog.
